Introducing the Medical Aid Customer Care Consultant position offered on a permanent, full-time basis. This role provides a package of up to R20 000 per month including benefits. It’s perfect if you have two to four years of medical aid industry experience.
As part of the Customer Care team, you’ll be responsible for resolving member queries both telephonically and in writing, supporting medical scheme rules, and ensuring compliance with industry legislation. The job involves offering expert assistance, providing information to members, escalating complex queries, and maintaining excellent communication.
Beyond daily problem-solving, you’ll be tasked with calculating benefits and quotes for members, handling administrative follow-ups, and liaising closely with providers and internal departments. Efficiency, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping people are key for success in this position.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
This position involves managing incoming calls from members and vendors, resolving queries, and offering solutions in line with established policies. You’ll retrieve details, document cases, and handle complaints quickly and efficiently.
Additionally, you’ll liaise directly with healthcare providers and internal teams to ensure smooth case management. Accurate benefit calculations and account reviews are required regularly.
The consultant must verify memberships, confirm benefits, and regularly update both members and healthcare suppliers on status. When issues become complex, escalating to team leaders is essential.
Administrative accuracy and diligent record-keeping will be a part of everyday work, supported by system usage best practices.
Compliance with company and interdepartmental processes underpins every activity, ensuring a professional experience for every member.
